Help Support Capital Village Schools

As a small school with big ideas, Capital Village will invest more money in each student than what is provided by federal funding. We depend on the support of our community to provide the very best and student-centered education for each unique student.

Our End of Year Campaign has started!! I would like to thank donors for a successful Giving Tuesday campaign, raising more than our $10,000 goal! This May and June, we are focusing on scaling our SPED program. See below and thank you in advance.

2023 End of Year Campaign
Help us support our growing Special Education program!

Since our opening in August 2019, our positive reputation has spread, and so has the percentage of families seeking a school that can meet their children’s diverse needs. While this growth validates our model’s effectiveness in providing an inclusive, personalized learning experience, we are seeking immediate support to help us scale our special education program to properly serve our growing population of students with special needs. At Capital Village PCS, we are committed to providing every learner with a high-quality education that meets their unique needs and challenges them to reach their full potential. However, district funding for special education programs is based on a formula that takes into account the total number of students with disabilities, rather than the specific needs of each individual student.

We are looking to raise funding to scale our special education program to properly serve our growing population of students with IEPs and students with specialized needs, starting this summer. This includes:

  • Hiring an additional full-time special education teacher and part-time behavioral specialist with experience with students with autism
  • Hiring an additional case manager to support our efforts to develop a student-led IEP and progress monitoring process
  • Expanding our curriculum to include more adaptive materials and technology for students across disability categories
  • Providing increased professional development for all teachers in customizing instruction and providing accommodations for students with disabilities
  • Designing summer intensive training for paraprofessionals and dedicated aides for staff in our school and other schools with similar needs
  • Contracting with local organizations to provide additional support staff for related services including vision, behavioral support, occupational therapy, physical therapy, art and music therapy, etc.
